MAKEUP ROULETTE? YA SURE, THAT'S A THING...

I guess quarantine finally got to me because I joined Tik Tok… Ha! But honestly it is so much fun over there- and it’s not just for teens. It is an app full of creativity and inspiration, and I feel like I learn more there than I have anywhere in years. I know there’s a lot of buzz about it being shut down (not going to happen) and about it being a cesspool, but ALL social media can be that way if you choose to look for it. This post isn’t about Tik Tok though, it’s about the game I made up to play on Tik Tok, and to inspire others to have fun with their makeup too: MAKEUP ROULETTE

I had the idea that I would let fate choose the color that I have to use as my main inspiration when I put on my face. I roll the camera, spin the wheel, and then come up with some sort of way to use that color in my look. Now, I don’t expect anyone to make their own wheel (although you totally can!), but the goal is to help you see that COLOR is fun and makeup shouldn’t be stale. Adapt the color to fit your style… it’s possible and I’ll show you how. Today, I took my wheel on Studio 5 for a LIVE spin… it was nerve wracking, and definitely shook me when the color that came up was BLACK! eek. Here’s how it went; [video here]

When it comes to implementing this idea in your own life- just simply take a look at your palettes and look for the colors you never use. Next, FREAKING USE THEM! It’s that simple… be brave, try something new, express your style in a fresh way. Evolve. Just like your clothing style and home style evolves over time, your makeup preferences and techniques and especially colors should too.
