THE POWER OF PROPER BLUSH PLACEMENT FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE

Makeup enthusiasts (me!) know that blush is a magical tool that can instantly elevate your look and give you a fresh, healthy glow. But did you know that the key to achieving a flawless blush application lies in understanding your specific face shape and applying the blush in the right places? Proper blush placement can make a world of difference in enhancing your natural features and creating a harmonious balance in your makeup. [video here]

HORIZONTAL BLUSH PLACEMENT - TO WIDEN CENTER OF FACE

Oval/long Face Shape: If you have an oval face shape, you're in luck! This face shape is considered to be the most balanced and most common, but often times this shape can appear long without a lot of bone structure through the cheekbones. Horizontal placement along the cheekbones all the way to the ears, will widen the center of the face and draw attention to the cheekbones.

FORWARD BLUSH PLACEMENT (APPLES OF THE CHEEKS) TO NARROW THE CENTER FACE

Round Face Shape: For those with a round face shape, blush placement can help add definition and structure. Applying blush slightly higher on the cheeks and blending it towards the temples can create the illusion of higher cheekbones and a more elongated face shape. And forward placement on the apples of the cheeks can help to narrow the face, try both options and see which feels best for you.

LOWER BLUSH PLACEMENT TO WIDEN AND SOFTEN NARROW JAWS/CHINS

Heart Face Shape: Heart-shaped faces typically have wider foreheads and narrower chins. To balance out the proportions, apply blush slightly lower on the cheeks. This will help soften the forehead and add fullness to the lower part of the face. Avoid applying blush on the temples, as it can make the face look top-heavy.

Diamond Face Shape: If you have a diamond face shape with a narrow forehead, wider cheekbones, and narrower chin, blush placement can help bring balance to your features. Apply blush on the lower part of the cheeks and blend it towards the ears. This will create the illusion of fuller cheeks and softer angles.

UPWARD BLUSH PLACEMENT TO NARROW TEMPLES AND LIFT CHEEKBONES

Square/Triangle Face Shape: If you have a square or triangle face shape with strong jawlines and angular features, blush placement can help soften the angles and add some warmth. Apply blush on the apples of the cheeks and blend it towards the temples. This will create a softer look and add balance out the angles of the jaw.
